The Physical Therapy Aide Fast-Track Diploma program is designed to prepare the student for assisting a physical therapist in the rehabilitation and recovery of patients. The program provides each student with the educational knowledge and hands-on training necessary for entry-level employment in a variety of settings.
In this program, students will learn to assist patients with exercising, use of heat packs, ultra sounds, and other procedures to help improve mobility and aid in overall recovery. Students are also taught the basics of physical therapy aide training through massage therapy classes, and how therapeutic and deep tissue massage can provide both physiological and psychological benefits. The massage therapy course also prepares students for additional career paths in that field.
Additionally, students will become well-versed in basic medical terminology, and will be introduced to anatomy and physiology procedures. In addition, students will develop a working knowledge of medical insurance billing for hospitals, doctors’ offices and medical facilities.
