The Physical Therapy Aide Fast-Track Diploma program is designed to prepare the student for assisting a physical therapist in the rehabilitation and recovery of patients. The program provides each student with the educational knowledge and hands-on training necessary for entry-level employment in a variety of settings.
In this program, students will learn to assist patients with exercising, use of heat packs, ultra sounds, and other procedures to help improve mobility to aid in overall recovery. Students will also learn the basics of massage therapy techniques, and how therapeutic and deep tissue massage can provide both physiological and psychological benefits
Students will also learn basic medical terminology, and will be introduced to anatomy and physiology procedures. In addition, students will develop a working knowledge of medical insurance billing for hospitals, doctors’ offices and medical facilities. There is also additional coursework on Russian and Sports Massage techniques.
