What You’ll Learn
The primary objective of the Homeland Security diploma program is to prepare students for the exciting field of safety, security, and emergency management. In just under nine months, students will develop the fundamental knowledge and skills necessary to protect people, information, and locations from internal and external threats.
In ICDC College’s Homeland Security and Investigation Fast-Track Diploma program, students will learn the fundamentals of the homeland security field through a variety of courses, which include:

In these courses, you will investigate real-case scenarios that have shaped and impacted the way we view and implement homeland security tactics. ICDC College will even facilitate your firearms and baton, guard card, and chemical agents permit training.*
ICDC College also offers its students an employment preparation course prior to graduation to assist with finding employment, preparing a strong résumé, effective interviewing techniques, and “dress for success” workshops.

Students who graduate with a Homeland Security and Investigation Fast-Track Diploma from ICDC College will be trained in the areas of homeland security, criminal justice, emergency response and management, and terrorism. Upon graduation, students may be qualified to work in private security, public safety, and emergency management.

Potential employers of Homeland Security and Investigation graduates include federal agencies, law enforcement organizations, public and private security companies, and many others.
Graduates can qualify for entry-level employment in the following types of positions*:
Transportation Security Screener: In this role, you will protect passengers in airports and aircrafts. Security screenings may include hand-waving security wand, pat-down searches, monitoring metal detector equipment, and operation x-ray machine to identify dangerous objects in baggage. You will be required to use these tools properly to help travelers be safe and feel at ease.
Safety Security Officer: In this capacity, you would monitor and maintain security systems and closed circuit televisions. Duties might include observing daily office procedures and traffic to and from the building, assessing any harm or threat to the building or its employees.
Loss Prevention Agent: As an agent, you would enforce loss-prevention procedures by maintaining physical security to retail stores and markets. Duties might include ensuring all alarms and closed circuit televisions are functioning properly, as well as monitoring the daily activities of the store. In this role you would work closely with loss-prevention managers to investigate theft and discuss proactive plans to increase surveillance.
Security Officer: In this role, you would be the first line of support in situations of injury or emergency. Your duties would include patrolling and reporting misconduct of any sort. Your presence would ensure that security and safety concerns are handled or reported properly. Security Officers provide a professional and secure working environment for public or private businesses.

ICDC College also offers its graduates an employment preparation course prior to graduation to assist in finding sources of employment, preparing an effective résumé and interviewing techniques.

Based on the state in which you choose to seek employment, potential requirements of state agencies and employers may include, but not be limited to, the following:
