Throughout your day, you probably use a PC, laptop, tablet device, or a smart phone. These devices, while all used for very different purposes, have two things in common: they’re advanced tools of computer technology, and they need really smart, highly trained people to help run them!
For students who are technologically adept, have a history of tinkering with things to see how they work, or are interested in computers and the networks they’re a part of, ICDC College is proud to offer the two programs below, which can lead to a role in information technology – a 9 month Networking Technology Fast-Track Diploma and a 6 month Computer Repair/Networking Certificate. These courses are designed to provide students with the entry-level skills needed for a long and meaningful career as an IT professional. Depending on the program you choose, you could qualify to become a network administrator, user support analyst, or similar title that matches your passion and background!
These information technology classes are offered at ICDC College’s Main Campus in Huntington Park, and to help accommodate the busy schedules of working professionals, they’re available during convenient morning and night sessions. An IT-based education can open up doors to a career in working with technology! Classes are also taught by instructors with real world IT experience, and students will receive practical hands-on training in courses that include:
- PC Mechanical & Electronic Components, PC Hardware Concepts, Fundamentals, and Operating Systems I
- Personal Computer Diagnostic and Repair II
- Operating Systems III, and Hard Disk Management I
- Personal Computer Diagnostic and Repair IV, and Networking I
With training in information technology, graduates will enter an encouraging job market. The Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) reports that from 2012-2022, hiring rates for job titles like Technical Support Specialists and Network Technician are expected to increase by as much as 21 percent!¹ As students finish out their programs and prepare to hit the job market, they’ll be able to take advantage of ICDC College’s Career Services department, which includes assistance in building an effective résumé, interview tips, and even a “dress for success” workshop. ICDC College also offers additional help with job placement services.
