    Computerized Accounting Fast-Track Diploma

    ICDC College’s Computerized Accounting Fast-Track Diploma program will provide you with the training you need to become a valued member of the finance/accounting department for a business. Bookkeeping, auditing, and accounting clerks are employed in nearly every industry. Computerized Accounting Diploma students at ICDC College develop the essential skills needed for accounting positions related to payroll, bookkeeping, income tax, accounts receivable and accounts payable.

    Businesses rely on their finance teams to know how to use the latest accounting tools, which is why ICDC College ensures all Computerized Accounting Fast-Track Diploma students receive skills development training including typing, data entry and spreadsheets created and maintained in Microsoft® Word® and Excel®. Through training in these applications and the class topics included in the program, you will develop skills in bookkeeping, tax preparation and general business finance.

    In our online Computerized Accounting Fast-Track Diploma program, you will learn from experienced professionals who are experts in their fields. As an online student, you will still benefit from one-on-one interaction with your professors, fellow students, and the ICDC College Academic Advising and Online Career Advising teams.

    Employment for Computerized Accounting graduates is not limited to financial organizations. Entry-level employment for qualified accountants and financial staff may be found in a variety of small businesses, insurance companies, banking and financial services firms, oil and gas companies, real estate and property offices, construction offices, state and local government agencies, and healthcare organizations.

    Employment:

    Career Services assistance is provided by ICDC College upon completion of the program.

    ICDC College offers its graduates an employment preparation course prior to graduation. This assists them in finding sources of employment, preparing an effective resume, and with interviewing techniques. The goal of this program is to prepare ICDC College graduates to enter the business world with the knowledge and skills needed for success.

    ICDC graduates of the Computerized Accounting Fast-Track Diploma program may be qualified to hold entry-level positions that include:

    Accounts Payable Coordinator: This role oversees accounts payable activities, such as preparation, review and maintenance of records. You would prepare checks for all purchases made on behalf of the company, maintain all accounts payable files, match purchase orders with vendor invoices, and prepare reconciliation statements.

    Bookkeeper: As a bookkeeper, you would work with QuickBooks® and Sage Peachtree™ to organize and process accounts payable and receivable, generate client invoices and financial statements, administer client billing and collections, and perform month-end closings. You would manage bank and general ledger reconciliations and payroll processing. You would also be responsible for inventory control, tracking and reconciliation, and preparing depreciation statements.

    Accounting Clerk: As a clerk in an accounting department you would be expected to maintain all account files including filing of general ledger vouchers, accounts payable invoices and related financial documents. Your duties may include researching, tracking and resolving documentation discrepancies or problems, auditing daily sales reports, and posting data to the account journals. You may also be asked to assist with accounts payable and receivable, as well as payroll preparation.

    Payroll Clerk: In this role you would be responsible for calculating staff paychecks based on hours worked and any deductions applied (taxes, insurance, retirement). Your duties might include collecting, calculating and entering data to update payroll, compiling information for reports, and determining payroll liabilities by calculating employer’s social security, employment and worker’s compensation payments.

    *The tax preparer course (course #1035-QE-0012) is a CTEC approved course, which fulfills the 60-hour “qualifying education” requirement for tax preparers.
